4/7, guessed the binary (wrong), guessed the maths because couldn't be bothered (wrong), never studied ancient Greek stuff so guessed (wrong).
Still, at least I'm good at guessing beer names, much more useful skill at my age.

I'm surprised at you both with the binary/denary (well Zero at least) as the answer patently had to be an even denary number, and only one of them is so you don't even have to "do the math".

My son got 9 As and 3 A*s. Very pleased.
I got 7/7.

7, with a half guess at the Greek queen. No need to convert the binary. Only one of those answers could be right.
Edit: I see I was wasting my time trying to avoid a spoiler, somebody already did it...

Very good point which either shows the level of my laziness in approaching the question or my level of ability. Given that I know what you're talking about though this may lead the jury to acquit.
Remember, I'm a cunning linguist by educational speciality.

I'm surprised Zero got the binary one wrong - as said already the number was even and there was only one in the list to choose from. Nothing to work out.
I guess that Queen question incorrectly so 6/7 for me. The others were easy - surely not an indication of the difficulty of some GCSE questions?

7/7, though the Queen one was a total guess.

First the dodo died, then Di died and Dodi died. Dido must be shitting herself.

There's a very annoying bloke who does the quiz in the local pub. If he prefaces a question with "this is an easy one, you'll all get this" it means it's one he actually knew himself.

6/7 - have never studied binary or chemistry so the chemistry one was a guess. It sounds as if most of you guys came up on the science side if Dido was the difficult one. She'd make a good crossword clue - "ancient queen said to have met her end penniless".

Forced along the Science and Engineering stream but really with a suppressed (by school) fascination with Geography and a later developed interest in the arts and classics.

Indeed..I was hopeless and Geography and History at school. Did Maths, Phys, Chem for A-level. But now I have a great interest in good writing (I hate poorly drafted valuation reports and mine are carefully crafted to minimise the amount of text and maximise understanding), really enjoy history, especially social history, and am fascinated by how all these topics fit together. Something like " there was a society that operated in this way, it changed because of climate changes or war or disease and now it is like this or it disappeared altogether".
I have this great sense that we are living in a period of massive upheaval unlike anything since the Industrial Revolution (if not before), but can't yet see it or maybe we will be long dead before it is recognised as such...

Concur, what has happened since 1983 has been more technically commercially and economically significant than the industrial revolution, and the resulting globalisation is a sociopolitical economic and humanitarian game changer.

7/7, but I admit to having randomly but thankfully correctly chosen the answer to the binary question. I didn't have a clue on that one. The others were straightforward enough.
