Yeah... Contrived lines and Hofmeister kink aren't really my thing. They obviously bring joy to some.

I don't think BMW do the Hofmeister kink well any longer.

Or to put it another way, if it was alive, you’d strongly advise it not to wear leggings… 😉 I was going to say that the iX reminds me of an attractive woman that has a huge and ugly backside, only revealed after you have gone phwosrrrr

Glad it's getting sorted with reasonable speed, Dubya. The last time my Leaf was pranged, it took almost 3 months before I could take it to a bodyshop.
My sis is still stuck in France with the F Pace. Apparently the radiator arrived, they fitted it, but it's missing a single flange before it's ready, which is going to take another 3 weeks. So they've booked flights home and one of them will have to go back and collect it at a later date. The flange in question is a small plastic one, probably a £4 part or something daft. But Jaguar won't give the dealer in France the OE Part Number, so sis can't try to source it elsewhere. What a farce. I've tried to search it up online but no dice. Got a photo and a schematic, but nothing is coming up as a definite match. And anyway, if I bought one here and tried to post it out, there's been a Brexit so it'd probably get stuck in customs for that 3 weeks. She's going to go to the Jag dealer here on Thursday, see if they can help properly.

That’s madness! Which of her various insurers can offer anything to help?

That's a good question. Genuinely hadn't occurred to me.

After a week of app alerts that the car was unlocked or had windows open, it's now showing as contentedly locked. Hoping this portends a call to say it's ready.
The charge level has dropped three points in the ten days it's been away. Still plenty in it to get me home.

Just as I was wondering how long they could leave it here (when the boss told the trainee to “Park it across the road”…) the phone rang to say it’s ready. I’ve not really bonded with the white loaner, which smells of rent-a-car cleaning chemicals, so it’ll be nice to have mine back.

My Superb is still managing to smell of new car in places. Not for much longer, I suspect. Dog/Teenagers/Takeaways.

Home again and they seem to have done a decent job. Nice to be back in my own iX too — altogether gemütlicher than the wipe-clean Sensatec in the loaner. Hoping to stay well clear of Audis out there now.

Awesomeballs.
I was following a (black, natch) iX through a local village the other day, a village which harbours many speed humps. The car, despite its colossal size, was transporting some flat pack boxes which were too long for it, so the tailgate was bungeed to the bumper and kept bouncing up and down. This meant even more painfully slow progress than usual through said village, so the driver kindly pulled over and waved me past. Which was nice.
As you were.

The only advantage I can immediately think of in having cloth seats is their ability to muffle the sound of in car farts. Leather or similar seems to amplify them. Which is not always convenient. Especially if you have the windows or roof open while waiting at traffic lights or suchlike. 🤔

Yes, Humph, the BMW brochure specifically mentions that advantage. 💨 Perhaps the authors have been next to you at the lights.

Or, they know that their domestic customers are prone to regular consumption of currywurst?
