Brie and cranberry sandwich for lunch today (I've been dragged into an 'office' against my will and had to buy lunch in a Co-Op).
It begins. I'm having Dry Roasted Peanut cravings already.

Well, whatever you decide to ingest during the forthcoming season of gluttony, I hope you all enjoy yourselves and don't keel over with some kind of pulmonary obstruction.
I'm going offline now for the Christmas season, so I'll wish you all a Merry Christmas, fat tums to all, and a Happy New Year. See you early Jan if I don't kill myself to death skiing.
Toot toot.

Have a safe trip and come back in one piece. I do realise you are unlikely to see my response until you are back.
I'm off to warmer places next week too and avoiding a conventional Christmas.

Coming to the end of Chanukah tomorrow.
Then off to somewhere warmer as well next week. Christmas definitely not celebrated there... But I will eat well.

I need to get a job back in the UK, you lot all sacking it off mid-Dec to early January. Are you all semi-Rtd ?
Have a great break, guess I'll be turning the lights off this year...

I quit my job in April 2022 although I'm not saying I am retired. Got a small payout although technically it was not (voluntary) redundancy.

My job quit me in early December 2022 but I’ve got another — better — one now. And I’m not knocking off yet, even planning to work between Christmas and New Year. I have a couple of big engagements coming up in January, so this should be an opportunity to get ahead of the preparation.
But with judicious deployment of my remaining leave days around the holidays, I’ve managed to engineer four successive four-day weekends, starting with this one.

What’s a “weekend” again? I think I remember, those are the days when you don’t have to work aren’t they? 😎

Semi-retired...? No. But I have 17 colleagues, valuation work tends to shut down over the holiday period, I now work about 4 days a week if looking at my hours and valuation is not a matter of life and death - although some potential clients think it is... They do not get converted from potential clients to actual clients with that attitude!
Because the work my colleagues do can be stressful (in terms of dealing with 'entitled' clients and emergencies) we always close for four working days over Christmas; this year we only open on 3rd January and run a skeleton on-call operation for the team that needs to be available.
