I am paying an informal visit to the University of Reading on Thursday. The Business School building I think it is. I don't have any contact internally to arrange a parking space.
Any suggestions where to park without being towed?

Henley Business School? P2 Parking looks closest according to Google maps. Or is there another business school that's part of the campus? What does the business school suggest for parking?

Yes. Thats the one. I am joining a delegation of overseas visitors, but they are going by coach and I am driving so I can leave for home when the meeting has finished.
I googled the car parks but most are permit only.

I think you can pay to park at the Sports Park car park, near the Shinfield Road entrance. Otherwise there's paid street parking on Pepper Lane, which is alongside the campus. There's always plenty of room there. If you look it up on Zap Map, the Sports Park car park on Queens Drive (in the campus) has some Polar car chargers you can use whilst you're there. Also: www.reading.ac.uk/estates/campus-services/parking/visitors-parkingIf you want to park on street for free, you'll be having a bit of a walk to get to the University, and the nearest free streets are on the edge of Whitley council estate. Make of that what you will.

It's really not that bad. I lived there for a bit, never a hint of trouble, whereas I've had a car vandalised, been burgled and been threatened in the street in (allegedly posh) Caversham. Although of course I've lived in the latter far longer than the former.

EIII, I've just nipped in to Car Park 1 at the Sports Park, it's open to anyone to park, no need for a permit. There's a scale of charges up to £10 for a whole day, 8am to 5pm. The EV chargers are BP Pulse, think you should be able to use them with the app. Obvs car park charges will apply whilst charging. Got a few photos of the signage, I'll post them up when I'm back on my PC.

Thank you so much Al. Really appreciate that. Just running around at the moment so not much time to plan.
Currently in the West End in a very large two-bedroom two-bathroom apartment for two nights. Here with a colleague as it is £500 cheaper than staying in a basic hotel. It is spotless and comfortable.

If two surveyors in two bedrooms for two nights save £500, how much will… ?

Must be quite cheap though.... I'm sure I could find somewhere with two rooms a week in advance for say £600 for two rooms for two nights.

The Uni is next door to my children's school, so I popped in on the way there. Photos:

There seem to be cafés in the vicinity. Anyone have time for a cup of tea before setting off home?
(Vić's two probably know the going rate for a local child to watch the car, and we might get a volume discount for three.)

If EIII's departure coincides with a school run pick up time, and he's got 10 minutes to spare, then I should be able to do that. The University Sports Park itself has a cafe open to the public right by the car park.
The local car watching kids have got mobile card readers now, but they'll want the £10 minimum wage.

Good to take an ethical approach to these matters. Should mean they’re registered for VAT too.

2 hours free parking in Northcourt Ave, just off the Shinfield Rd/Christchurch Rd junction, BTW.
