No. It will rain and it's Saturday. The Chief Rabbi can go (indeed is going) and represent me.

I wish none of them any ill will. They are after all just a bunch of human beings who by accident of birth find themselves where they are. And, while a part of me finds the whole thing attractively quaint, I’m really not very interested in them or the palaver set to take place at the weekend. As far as I’m concerned, if it makes the roads quieter for a while so I can get to and from places I want to whilst it’s all unfolding then that’s fine by me! In fact, they can do it every weekend if they want from my point of view. A bit like football matches, these things tend to provide an unintended but welcome service and benefit to the rest of the community by corralling their aficionados at least for a while. 😉

Just don't get caught up outside The Etihad after a match... traffic chaos.

My Man City supporter friend took two West Ham supporters to last night’s match in some posh hospitality. Apparently City won. I was invited too but really couldn’t be bothered. I get that others differ, but no matter how I try, I just can’t get into football. I’d rather do stuff than watch others doing stuff.

It’s bad enough in Reading.
(I was going to add something like ‘on match days’, but I think my statement works as it is.)
Windsor, on the other hand, may be an entertaining place to be today.

Match days in Reading just got a little bit less busy as they have just been relegated to the third division (where they traditionally belong, frankly), so there will be fewer fans at games. It only really affects the southernmost end/J11 anyway, which is easily avoided for those of us resident across the border in Mercia.
I am just enjoying the fact the anyone resident in Windsor Castle now has a LibDem for a Councillor.
Traffic was always hell in Windsor.

Yes - 22 Tories on the council before. 7 today. At least they'll find plenty of bunting to dry their eyes on.

Once took a train on Saturday night to London after United had played at home. Almost the whole train was United plastic Mancs. City were playing away so I took delight in playing the radio commentary and cheering everytime we scored - which was pretty often as we were playing Swansea whose defence leaked like a sieve's sieve.

The food, drink, environment, service etc was excellent, but the football, well it’s not for me, and the appalling behaviour of the spectators is certainly not to my taste. I’m no prude, but even in the supposedly posh seats the language was worse than that of the gutter. It would have felt churlish to avail myself of his hospitality again when I knew it would involve me wondering when was the earliest I could make a polite exit.
