Ay-gone

…but not forgotten. My son was driving his old Aygo on Sunday afternoon on a country road in heavy rain when his offside front wheel ran over some debris in the road on a bend and burst the tyre.
He lost control and hit a 6 foot high brick wall head on at about 40mph.
Real shame because he’s had his licence for five years now and had built up maximum no claims.
Anyway, it’s a testament to the safety of modern (ish) cars that he emerged unharmed. Both airbags deployed and there wasn’t much recognisable car left beyond the windscreen.
Shaken not stirred thankfully.
The car and the wall fared rather less well.
It’s all sorted with the insurance and yesterday we found a replacement car for him. He was looking to upgrade to something a bit more grown up anyway in the near future, but of course his insurance will be higher again next time so he has sensibly just gone for another Aygo.
It’s three years younger than his old one and must be a higher spec as it has some twiddly bits like alloys, privacy glass, fog lights, a rev counter, leather trimmed steering wheel and gearstick etc
