I like that. Blue, but its not the wrong blue. If its insurable for a learner, then, that might do.

Yes Clio estates were a thing here for a while. Bit on the small side for my tastes.

Not really, it's a 2002 so before the 2005-reg increases.

Yes not too bad in my book. YMMV. It's the £500+ bracket I object to.

Seems like a lot to me. I object ( a bit ) to the £210 for the Qashqai, Contextually, the Merc is £125 and the Aygo is £20.
Keep that Scooby three years and you've shelled out a grand in tax on a two grand car.
I'd be richt scunnert.
29 mpg too, so you'd get 24 if you were lucky.
Other than that, s'all good.

Even at £500 a year VED is the smallest part of motoring costs. On a car which has already depreciated to near nothing, I don't care much. The alternative is a car with depreciation left in it and a bit les VED, which is always going to be way more than £300 VED. It's the least important thing to be scunnert about.

Those Scoobies have a bit of a cult following down-under. Seemingly very reliable. The barry-boys run them to they drop, usually spending money on cosmetic enhancements instead of maintenance. Never been great on fuel economy, as Humph infers, but if it’s only being driven 6000-odd miles a year who cares?
Good left field choice Al!

Good news: there will be a 3rd car on the fleet this Friday.
Bad news: it's temporary and won't belong to us, but may be here for 18 months at least.
Good news: I can use it but won't have to incur any running costs (except fuel)
Bad news: it's no use for learners as it's an automatic.
It's my sister's (who is living in Florida for a few years) convertible Mini (auto because of her disability) which I'm going to park in my garage, because where it is at the moment, under a tarpaulin, the interior is starting to go mouldy and it needs drier storage. Bloody convertibles, what's the point.

So, you could argue, if you felt like an argument, that the Mini could, for 18 months, cover the usage that the Leaf currently does...thus...

Ah well now I can't be certain of it being here for that amount of time, my sister is liable to fly in randomly and need to use it, and also it's a shit car with no boot. You are obsessed with my getting shot of the Leaf, man. Obsessed. Seek help.

Don't worry, electricity will reach the North soon. The Tories promised it, Powerhouse or something.
